Milton Sapirstein became a student of Viktor Frankl's in the mid-1950s. He earned his M.D. at Harvard Medical School, training in psychiatry at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston. He was a staff psychiatrist at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts until his death in March, 2011
He is the author of many articles and books on education, including "What Makes A Teacher" (Oxford University Press) and "The Book of Education" (University Press of America), co-authored with Joanne Belknap.
